LET ME PICK YOU UP EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE.
You practice, you rehearse, you keep pestering club owners and tilling the facebook field – but nothing happens. Audiences at your gigs are scarce and you start wondering why nobody wants to book you. It frustrates you and it makes you question your abilities. As a singer, I have become all too familiar with patterns like these. Anyone in the music business knows them. You are looking for a helping hand, for someone to give you a nudge in the right direction. Don’t worry, you are in the right place:
I can help you analyze and improve.
It may well be that some of the basic questions about marketing, and about success, have so far escaped your attention:
- Who am I, as an artist?
- What is it that makes me unique?
- What are the obstacles I am faced with?
- What is it that I excel in/can do particularly well?
- What kind of audience am I addressing?
- Is there any potential gap in the market for me to fill?
These are some of the questions you’ll have to answer before you can get into gear with your band or as a soloist.
Making music is your main objective?
Sure enough. But in all probability, this won’t do if you want to embark on a musical career. Like in any other enterprise, presenting an image and creating a brand is what matters most. This includes all kinds of things, from social media to creating a cool website to printing flyers to selecting your stage outfit. Social media are great enablers. You can do a lot of the work yourself, which requires little money but being ready to spend a lot of time. It really pays off. It’s up to you how much money and time you can spend on advertising your act, but if you feel the response has been lacking, I may be able to give you a hand. Let’s just sit down and have a cup of coffee together and talk it over.
Now what exactly can I do for you?
I can do a great variety of things for you. Maybe you want some tips for a start, maybe you need a new website, perhaps some consistent graphic design for your flyers or other printed matter, or maybe you need someone with enough knowledge to help you deal with a concert agency. You are an individual, you are unique, your problem is a specific one, and so is my way of handling it. Would you perhaps like to attend one of my „Marketing Basics for Musicians“ workshops? Let’s find out what you need most, and the best way of doing this is to meet for a personal talk.
